The Telangana High Court (HC) dismissed the plea of the Telangana Government, demanding continuation of the Dalit Bandhu Scheme in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency.

On the 28th of October, Thursday, the Telangana HC reviewed the petition filed against the decision of the Election Commission (EC.) Recently, the EC issued notice to stop the implementation of the Dalit Bandhu scheme temporarily, due to the upcoming Huzurabad Assembly by election. Objecting to the same, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) filed a petition.

The Chief Justice of the Telangana HC Mr. Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Mr. Rajasekhar Reddy heard the plea. The HC bench said, they cannot interfere in the EC’s decision in the poll bound region.

The Court further added that the State Election Commission (SEC) has all the rights to take decisions unbiased to the election.

With the judgement of the Telangana HC not to interfere in the EC’s decision, the Dalit Bandhu Scheme in Huzurabad is halted temporarily.

The implementation of the scheme would resume after the Huzurabad Assembly by poll election, scheduled on the 30th of October. The results of the same would be announced on the 2nd of November.
