The Telangana High Court (HC,) on the 23rd of June, Thursday, directed officials to conduct a survey of government land in Yadadri – Bhuvanagiri district.
During the court hearing, the HC was directed to ensure that the entire government land was freed from private persons’ clutches and restored by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government. The court was hearing public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Boreddi Ayodhya Reddy from Nalgonda district seeking a direction to protect government land admeasuring Ac. 177 guntas in survey number 208 and Ac. 591.05 guntas in survey number 312 situated in Ramlingampally village, Bommalaramaram Mandal of Yadadri – Bhuvanagiri district under encroachment.
On Thursday, the Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili directed the District Collector to survey the Government land within a month, which is under illegal occupation by the private persons.
The division bench cautioned the district Collector that in the event the Collector fails to adhere to the orders of the court, then he will have to appear before the court in person and explain the reasons for not abiding by the court’s order.
The Court had also observed that it is the bound and duty of the State to secure its lands and it should not wait for an order from the court to protect its lands from the encroachers and miscreants.
With this, the matter has been adjourned for review after one month.
