With the General Lok Sabha elections coming closer, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is making all efforts to stand strong against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

According to sources, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, is likely to contest against Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Member of Parliament (MP) from Karimnagar Parliament constituency. Notably, the major reason to select Karimnagar is that, in the past, he had contested and won from Karimnagar twice. Hence, he is expected to choose Karimnagar again. However, an official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made.

Notably, after witnessing the BJP’s stronghold in Huzurabad and Dubbaka constituencies, the TRS is seriously planning to go into national politics and contest against the BJP.

While Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao is expected to focus on national politics, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao, the General Secretary of the TRS, would look after state politics and the 2023 State Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, the sources also said that the TRS is systematically preparing ground for KTR and other leaders in the Telugu State.

Besides Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao in Telangana, Mr. M.K.Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and Ms. Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal are also planning for national politics.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled in April 2024.
