The Telugu State of Telangana, ranks first in conducting online audits of local bodies.
On the 7th of September, the Panchayat Raj Minister of Telangana, Mr. Errabelli Dayakar Rao said, Telangana not only stood like a beacon of development but also maintained transparency in utilisation of funds.
Addressing the media in Warangal, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Minister said, “Telangana Government has been providing funds to local bodies on par with the 15th Finance Commission due to the efforts of the Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrasekhar Rao.”
With this, it is the second time when Telangana ranked first in conducting transparent online audits. It is to be noted, the Government of India (GoI,) introduced an online audit for Indian states in 2019. Since then, Telangana Government, under the leadership of Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, became the first State to have shown proper utilisation of funds and conduct transparent corruption free audits.
In 2021, the Telangana administration achieved 40 % audit, 15 % more than predicted audits by the Central Government. Of the total 40 %, in just three months (June-July-August) the State achieved 28 % audit.
This is not the first time, Telangana has been best in online audit. In the past, the Central Government lauded the efforts and measures taken by the Telangana Government and conducting efficient online audits of local bodies with accountability and transparency.
