The Telangana Health Department confirmed 1,986 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Of the 1,986 cases, 16 were from Adilabad, 29 from Bhadradri, 586 from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) 7 Jagtial, Jangaon (21,) Bhuplapally (4,) Gadwal (32,) Kamareddy (46,) Karimnagar (116,) Khammam (41,) Komarambheem Asifabad (2,) Mahabubnagar (61,) Mahabubabad (37,) Mancherial (35,) Medak (45,) Medchal Malkajgiri (207,) Mulugu (37,) Nagarkurnool (30,) Nalgonda (36,) Narayanpet (4,) Nirmal (9,) Nizamabad (19,) Peddapalli (26,) Siricilla 23,) Rangareddy (205,) Sangareddy (108,) Siddipet (20,) Suryapet (6,) Vikarabad (5,) Wanaparthy (18,) Warangal Rural (30,) Warangal Urban (123) and 12 positive cases from Yadadri Bhongir.
According to the media bulletin, with 1,986 cases the total positive cases stand at 62,703 and with 14 new fatalities the death toll is 519.
For the first time, the State also managed to conduct 21,380 COVID-19 sample tests in the last 24 hours, taking total tests till date to 4,37,982. Of the total 21,380, results of 1,216 sample tests are awaited.
With these updates, Telangana has 62,703 positive cases, 45, 388 recovered/discharged cases and 16,796 active cases.
Of the total active cases, 10,632 persons are under home isolation while 6,164 positive cases are in institutional care.
Despite the everyday spike in the Novel Coronavirus cases, the recovery rate in Telangana is better at 72.40 %. In addition, mortality rate is 0.80% and growth rate 2.80 %.
