Telangana registered a rise in single day cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19,) after reporting below 500 cases for the past two days.
On Monday evening, the 18th of July, Telangana reported 540 new cases with 708 recoveries and 0 deaths. The Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana. The new cases were confirmed after conducting 25,585 COVID-19 tests of samples in the past 24 hours.
With this, Telangana now has 4,481 active cases, 8,01,726 are recovered/discharged cases and 4,111 are deceased.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (272) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Rangareddy (50) and Medchal Malkajgiri with 34 cases.
In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 98.94% and the positive COVID-19 rate is at 0.33 %.
