The schools and educational institutions of Telangana are set to reopen for offline classes from the 1st February.

The decision was taken by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government after considering the current Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus situation in the State.

The Government  said to have taken a call on the reopening of schools, after the recommendation of the Health Department.

On the 29th of January, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, held a high level meeting to discuss the situation and took a final call regarding the reopening of schools and universities.  The high level meeting was said to be held at Pragathi Bhavan. The State Government officials and Ministers like Ms. Sabitha Indra Reddy and Mr. T. Harish Rao and other State Cabinet ministers attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Mr. Chandrashekar Rao discussed with the officials and took a call.

If reopened from February, the cleaning work and Sanitisation work would be top priority, following which Wuhan virus protocols would also be followed strictly.

In addition, special care and attention would be given to the children of primary classes, attending the offline classes. It is to be noted, schools and educational institutions have remained shut in Telangana since 8th of January amid the rising number of the Wuhan virus cases.
