For the 7th consecutive day, the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) single day cases were below 1,000. In the past 24 hours, Telangana registered 808 new cases with 8 deaths and 1,061 recovered/discharged cases.

The State is witnessing a decline in the COVID-19 cases since the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) imposed a one month lockdown. The lockdown in the State and other precautions taken by the State Government resulted in a low number of cases. From 20,000 active cases to 12,000 active cases in just a month is due to the cooperation of people and the strict surveillance by the State police.

It has been 15 days since the State Government lifted the lockdown and the situation is said to be under control.

The new cases were confirmed through a health bulletin released to the media on the 5th of July. The State Health Department releases a bulletin every day at 8:00 P.M.

According to the health bulletin released on the 5th of July, Telangana now has 6,27,498 positive cases, of which 11,704 are active cases, 6,12,096 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,698 are deceased cases.

In addition, according to the bulletin, the Telangana Medical Department conducted 1,03,098 sample tests for COVID-19, taking the total to 1.91 crores (1,91,69,799) till the 6th of July.

With this, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 97.54% from the previous 97.50% recovery rate. In addition, the fatality rate of COVID-19 remains stable at 0.58 %.
