Mr. Aredla Jagadeeshwar Reddy, the Working President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, criticized the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government.

On the 23rd of May, Monday, Mr. Alreda Jagadeeshwar Reddy, also known as Jagga Reddy took a dig at Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana for the nomination of industrialist Bandi Parthasaradhi Reddy.  Notably, on the 18th of May, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao approved the nomination of Mr. Parthasaradhi Reddy, the Chairman of Hetero Drugs as the Rajya Sabha member of the TRS.

Reacting to the nomination, Mr. Jagga Reddy said, “How can a person who committed a major scam is given a Rajya Sabha seat?”

Mr. Jagga Reddy, who is also a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the Indian National Congress (INC) said, the Hetero Drugs company which was involved in the biggest scam for Remdesivir, a drug claimed to be a cure for the Wuhan virus (COVID-19.)  Despite the scam during the Wuhan virus pandemic, the TRS Government nominated the Chairman of the drugs company as a Rajya Sabha member.

Mr. Jagga Reddy asked how Mr. Parthasaradhi Reddy, who was involved in a scam, played with the lives of people is now considered to be a Member of Parliament (MP.)

Notably, Hetero Drugs allegedly sold Remdesivir drugs in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, despite no evidence of being a cure to the Wuhan virus.  The company had a scam worth Rs. 10,000 crore, with the sale of the drugs as it was not the cure for the Wuhan virus.

Furthermore, continuing with his criticism, Mr. Jagga Reddt demanded the withdrawal of the nomination of Mr. Parthasardhi Reddy.
