Preparing for the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) appointed presidents for the district units in Telangana.

Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, named 33 presidents for all the districts, on the 26th of January.  Since the Telugu State formation, this is the first time the ruling party took such a decision and appointed party presidents for each district.

The appointment of the party’s district units by KCR is seen as a move to strengthen the organisation ahead of Assembly elections scheduled to be held towards the end of 2023.

Another major reason to take this step is to be strong opposition against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP,) which is eying to establish themselves in Telangana.  In the past one year, the BJP has worked to gain votes and establish in the Telugu State to be in power in Telangana.

Recently, the strongest and senior most leader of the TRS Mr. Eatala Rajender also switched to the BJP.  Considering the BJP’s strengthening strategies and works, the TRS also geared up and is working to remain in power and starting to strengthen the party ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections.
