A complaint has been filed against Ms. Y.S. Sharmila, the president of the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) for making derogatory remarks against Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana.
In addition, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila also defamed some Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.) Notably, the Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Mr. Pocharam Srinivas Reddy has referred to the Privileges Committee a complaint by the ruling TRS.
According to sources, Telangana Chief Whip Mr. D. Vinay Bhaskar along with ministers Niranjan Reddy and Srinivas Goud and some MLAs met the Speaker and submitted the complaint. They said her remarks against the members amounted to a breach of privileges and sought action against Ms. Y.S. Sharmila.
In addition, Mr. Niranjan Reddy informed that a complaint was already filed against Ms. Y.S. Sharmila to the Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana Mr. Mahendra Reddy. Another case was registered in the Wanaparthy Police Station registered a case against Ms. Y.S. Sharmila for making personal remarks on Niranjan Reddy and for holding a public meeting without police permission, which led to traffic jams in the area.
Reacting to the TRS complaint, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila urged the Speaker to take action against minister Niranjan Reddy for insulting her and women like her with his comments. In a series of tweets, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila also sought action against Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son Mr. K.T. Rama Rao. In addition, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila also said before taking any action against her, the Speaker should act against Mr. K.T. Rama Rao and other TRS Ministers to take action against them.
Notably, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila sought action against the TRS leaders and alleged they mocked her every Tuesday’s Deeksha (Fast) against unemployment in Telangana.
