The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government would purchase paddy from the farmers in the State.

On the 28th of April, Thursday,  the Zilla Parishad Chairperson Mr. Kanumalla Vijaya, and District Collector Mr. R.V. Karnan assured that the K. Chandrashekar Rao Government would purchase all the grains from the farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP.)

Regarding this, the State Government would establish 357 paddy procurement centers in the Karimnagar district.  The statement of Mr. Kanumalla Vijaya came during the inauguration event of the easing paddy procurement center at Jammikunta Market Yard. Speaking on the occasion, the Zila Parishad Chairperson said, Chief Minister, KCR had introduced many welfare schemes for the farmers.  Highlighting some of the schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, 24 hours free electricity, subsidized fertilizer, and setting up paddy purchasing centers even without the Central government’s support, the Chairperson said, this shows the CM’s concern towards the farming community. 

Furthermore, of the 357 paddy procurement centers, 85 paddy procurement centers have already been set up in the district and 1,250 metric tonnes of grain have been procured.  The grains would be procured at Rs. 1,960 per quintal for ‘A’ Grade paddy and the common variety would be Rs. 1,940 per quintal. 

The event was attended by Additional District Collector Mr. G.V. Shyam Prasad Lal, Jammikunta Municipal Chairperson Mr. T. Rajeshwara Rao, the Agricultural Market Committee Chairman Mr. V. Bala Kishan Rao, the Municipal Vice Chairperson Mr. Tanguturu Rajkumar, the District Marketing Officer Padmavati, the  ZPTC Chairman Mr. Ram Shyam, Mr. Tehsildar Raju, the TRS leaders Mr. Gellu Srinivas Yadav.
