The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders on the 22nd of August, Monday, took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

On Monday, Mr. B. Lingaiah Yadav, the Member of Parliament (MP) of the TRS Legislative Party, addressed a press conference and said, the BJP is contesting the Munugode by election only to stop Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, to talk about national politics.  Mr. B. Lingaiah along with Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) Mr. G. Kishore, Mr. N. Bhaskar Rao and Mr. N. Bhagat lashed out at the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for calling KCR an anti farmer.

During the press meet Mr. Lingaiah Yadav said there was no response to the BJP public meeting held on Sunday in Munugode Assembly.  Mr. Lingaiah Yadav said, Mr. Amit Shah should be ashamed of himself to call the the TRS Government an anti farmer Government.

Furthermore, Mr. Lingaiah Yadav said, Mr. K.Chandrashekar Rao has become a Rythu Bandhu not only of Telangana but also of the country.  He further said, Mr. Amit Shah didn’t even answer questions of KCR, asked at the rally.  In addition, the TRS leaders also lashed out at Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the BJP President in Telangana, saying Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar had mortgaged the dignity of Backward Classes (BCs) by carrying slippers of Amit Shah.

Furthermore, calling the Munugode by election as a plan of the BJP, Mr. Lingaiah Yadav said,  “This is a by election which is not needed.  This was brought by BJP to stop CM KCR from talking about national politics.  Amit Shah told all the lies in yesterday’s meeting.  Those who wrote the script for Amit Shah have no understanding of the State.  Who told Amit Shah that there are no medical colleges in erstwhile Nalgonda district?”   Claiming that the BJP is trying to bring communalism, Mr. G. Kishore said, “We did not promise a Dalit Chief Minister in the 2018 election manifesto.  There is no one who is a bigger dalit than KCR.  The National Flag is being hoisted on June 2 on Telangana State Formation Day… what is the need to hoist it on September 17.”

It is to be noted, after the resignation of Mr. Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy (the former Indian National Congress leader) as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Munugode, the seat fell vacant, paving the way for a by election.

Political parties like the BJP, the TRS and the Indian National Congress Telangana unit is working hard to ensure victory in the Munugode by election.  Notably, the Election Commission of India is yet to announce the date of the Munugode Assembly by election.
