On the 19th of November, Friday, Mr. Madhusudana Chary, the former Assembly Speaker of Telangana, was nominated as the Member of the Legislative Council (MLC.)
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) proposed Mr. Madhusudana Chary for the MLC seat under the Governor’s quota. The proposal was approved by Ms. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana, following which his appointment to the MLC was announced officially.
Earlier, the TRS party decided to nominate Mr. Kaushik Reddy, who recently switched to the Party. He was the former leader of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC.) The proposal was rejected by the Governor, citing various pending cases against Mr. Kaushik Reddy.
Later, after discussion the K. Chandrashekar Rao led TRS withdrew its proposal and announced a new name for the MLC nomination under the Governor’s quota.
