Ms. Y.S. Sharmila, the President of the YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) alleged Telangana Chief Minister Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao of troubling her.
On the 12th of December, Monday, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila took a dig at the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and said, KCR is troubling her by not letting her conduct the padayatra. She said, as per the instructions of the BRS Government in Telangana, the State police detained her and stopped her from her padayatra. In order to protest against this, she went on indefinite hunger strike. She is said to be in strike since Friday evening, the 9th of December and did not even consume water. She protested that even after the Telangana High Court gave her permission to conduct padayatra, the ruling government is causing her trouble and went on hunger strike.
Due to this hunger strike for three days now, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila fell sick and was rushed to Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. She was taken to the hospital at 1:00 A.M., on Monday. The team of doctors at Apollo Hospital said that Ms. Y.S. Sharmila’s blood pressure and glucose levels have fallen down to alarming levels, and expressed concern over dehydration which could lead to electrolyte imbalance, potent enough to pose danger to her kidneys.
Meanwhile, the statement against CM KCR was released in a video format from the hospital on Monday. In the video from Apollo Hospital, Ms. Y.S. Sharmila criticized CM KCR for using all means and machinery to trouble her and create obstructions for her padayatra.
It is to be noted, since the past few days, high political drama is being witnessed between the BRS and the YSRTP. The issue between the two parties intensified after the 28th of November, Warangal incident, when a few BRS cadres attacked vehicle of Ms. Y.S. Sharmila. Soon the YSRTP and BRS cadres indulged into a violent fight, following which the Telangana Police arrested many supporters and workers of the YSRTP. The police also detained Ms. Y.S. Sharmila for staging protest outside Pragati Bhavan in Hyderabad, without permission.
