A few cities across India are under high security due to the historic verdict day of the second longest, the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case, in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
States and cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab declared a security alert and deployed police force to maintain peace and harmony.
The Uttar Pradesh-Nepal Border was also sealed in the wake of the Ayodhya verdict, which is expected to be announced shortly.
The Himachal Pradesh Government, the Delhi Government and a few regions of Punjab also announced a security alert and deployed police personnel.
The Himachal Pradesh Police even warned the public and the media houses not to spread rumours and fake news regarding the land dispute case.
Madhusudan Sharma, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Solan, Himachal Pradesh said, “Everyone is requested to not forward any such posts. Solan police advise all citizens to maintain peace and harmony at all costs.”
Tank Bund in Hyderabad is also under three layered security. Apart from Tank Bund, the Old City in Hyderabad, mosques and other areas have tight security to avoid any kind of violence amongst people.
Internet services and phone services in a few regions of Rajasthan are also banned till 6:00 A.M., on the 10th of November.
The Supreme Court (SC) was expected to announce the verdict at 10:30 A.M. The SC began the court hearing and is reviewing the petitions filed by several Hindu and Muslim organisations.
