The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Head office reported the second case of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19, on the 10th of June.
The second positive case at the GHMC head office was reported within a week of the first case.
On the 10th of June, an attender working at the office of Mayor Bonthu Rammohan tested positive for the Coronavirus infection. He was immediately shifted to the Gandhi Hospital, designated centre for COVID-19 treatment.
The office of GHMC Mayor was closed and was sanitized properly to make it virus free.
Recently, on the 8th of June, the first case of Coronavirus was reported from the GHMC office. The patient, a GHMC employee on the 4th floor was tested positive, following which all the workers of the floor were asked to undergo self quarantine and the floor was closed for sanitization.
Meanwhile, on the 10th of June, a team of three members sent by the Central Government visited Hyderabad to review the situation due to the Coronavirus in Hyderabad.
The three member team consisting of Sanjay Jaju, the Joint Secretary of the Central government, Vikas Gade and D. Ravinder visited to take up measures and control the spread of the virus.
The team conducted a meeting with Lokesh Kumar, the Commissioner of the GHMC limit and discussed the measures.
The GHMC limits is one of the containment zones in Telangana for the spread of the Novel Coronavirus. Hyderabad alone reported 2,514 cases of the Novel Coronavirus out of total 4,111. Out of the total, 2,514 cases, 2,186 are active cases, 305 recovered/discharged and 23 deceased.
The GHMC limit is also under strict lockdown 5.0., till the 30th of June.
