The Central Government on the late night of the 21st of July, issued a notice and extended work from home (WFH) till the 31st of December.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) took to Twitter and extended the ongoing WFH for all Information Technology (IT) and BPO companies till the 31st of December.
In a tweet last night, the Department of Telecommunications said, “It has further extended the relaxations in the terms and conditions for other service providers up to 31st December 2020 to facilitate work from home in view of the ongoing concern due to COVID-19.”
The DoT also announced a “few relaxations in the terms and conditions for other service providers up to the 31st December to facilitate work from home in view of the ongoing concern due to COVID-19. ”
Initially, the WFH was till the 31st of July.
The decision to do so was taken in the wake of the rise in cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
According to sources, as of now, nearly 85% of the IT companies and BPOs are working from home.
Meanwhile, the total number of the Novel Coronavirus in India stands at 11,92,915 cases with 28,732 deaths till the 22nd of July.
