The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government on the 9th of March, announced to regularize 11,103 contract employees.
On Wednesday, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, said they would provide employment regularization to contract staff in Telangana Government offices. The Chief Minister also announced plans to fill vacant government jobs . Furthermore, the State Government also announced to provide jobs to employees inherited from the undivided Andhra Pradesh.
During the ongoing Telangana Assembly Budget Session, KCR said, “The government believed that there was no excuse for having such a large number of contract employees in the public sector. Therefore, the government decided to regularize contract employees who have been working since June 2, 2014 in the newly formed state with a humanitarian perspective.”
Explaining the delay in the action, the KCR Government said the process came to a standstill due to the temporary orders issued by the High Court after various cases were filed in the court.
Notably, on the 7th of December 2021, the High Court issued directions dismissing the writ petitions as a result of the government’s struggle in failing to regularize employees and fill vacant posts.
However, now the TRS Government decided to remove contract employment in the State and issue notification regarding the same.
Meanwhile, the ongoing Telangana Budget Session 2022-2023, started from the 7th of March.
