Guntur: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders expressed profound grief over the tragic death of Sahana, who succumbed to injuries following a brutal attack. Extending their heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, they condemned the state government’s failure to ensure women’s safety.

Speaking to the media outside GGH in Guntur, YSRCP leader Merugu Nagarjuna criticized the government’s handling of Sahana’s case. He pointed out the absence of the responsible minister and the inadequate response by the authorities. Highlighting the current insecurity women face, Nagarjuna emphasized the lack of protection without the Disha App, stating, “Women remain vulnerable under this government’s tenure.” He also informed that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is set to visit Sahana’s family to offer his personal condolences.

Former Minister Vidadala Rajini echoed these concerns, noting the deterioration in women’s safety since the coalition government came into power. Citing Sahana’s case as a tragic example, Rajini called for immediate action, reminding the public that it was former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who had introduced protective laws like the Disha Act. “The fear for women’s safety has increased, and urgent measures are needed to ensure justice,” she added.
