Andhra Pradesh : Complete Lockdown Announced In Chittoor Due To Rise In Covid-19 Cases
Due to the increasing number of the Novel Coronavirus cases in Chittoor, the district administration imposed a lockdown.
Chittoor district witnessed a massive rise in the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases in the past week.
The effect of the Novel Coronavirus is particularly high in Tirupati. In this regard, Narayana Bharat Gupta, the District Collector of Chittoor, announced full lockdown would be imposed.
No movement of people without any emergency reasons would be allowed during the imposed lockdown.
According to issued guidelines, all other shops except medical shops would be allowed only from 6 A.M., to 11 P.M.
It also said it would ban vehicles from turning points after 11:00 A.M.
The Collector urged the people to abide by the rules and cooperate with the authorities.
The lockdown is in effect from the 21st of July and would be till the 5th of August.
Till the 21st of July, Chittoor reported a total of 4,763 positive cases. Of these, 1,580 are recovered cases, 3,132 are active cases and 51 deceased.
