Andhra Pradesh Government Expands Cabinet, Inducted Ministers Take Oath

The Andhra Pradesh Government, on the 22nd of July, expanded its Cabinet and filled two vacant posts.

During the Cabinet meeting, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government inducted Dr. Sidiri Appalaraju and Chelluboina Srinivasa Venugopalakrishna as the new Cabinet ministers.

After the resignation of Pilli Subhash Chandrabose and Mopidevi Venkatramana, two Cabinet births fell vacant.

Recently, Pilli Subhash Chandrabose and Mopidevi Venkatramana elected the Rajya Sabha election and became the Rajya Sabha members.

Due to this, they had to resign from the Cabinet ministry post of the State’s Deputy Chief Minister and Excise Minister fell vacant.

The expansion of the Andhra Pradesh cabinet took place at 1:00 P.M., on the 22nd of July.

Later at 1:29 P.M., the two newly inducted ministers took oath.

Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan administered the oath, during the swear in ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada.

The Cabinet expansion process began after the State Governor accepted the resignations of the former ministers on the 20th of July.

Appalaraju belongs to Srikakulam district and was elected as an MLA from Palasa in 2019 assembly elections and is elected as the Excise Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Chelluboina Srinivasa Venugopalakrishna from East Godavari district is the new Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Both the ministers belong to the Backward Class (BC) community and extended gratitude to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for such an opportunity.

Mr. Venugopalakrishna said, Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy is a great leader and is working for the all-round welfare of BC treating the entire community as his own family.

Andhra Pradesh is the only Indian state with five Deputy chief ministers.

The oath taking ceremony was held following all the norms and issued guidelines of the COVID-19 infection.

Only a few people were allowed to be present during the oath taking ceremony.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Governor Biswa Haribhushan and a few Cabinet ministers were present during the ceremony.
