On the 25th of July, the Andhra Pradesh Government, issued a notice and increased the opening hours of liquor shops in the State.
It is learned that after the implementation of the new liquor policy in the state of Andhra Pradesh from last October, liquor sales were allowed from 11:00 A.M., to 8:00 P.M.
However, the State Government recently decided to increase the opening hours of liquor stores to 9:00 P.M.
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) issued an order regarding the same.
According to issued order the liquor shops in Andhra Pradesh would be open from 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.
On the other hand, the Gernment had earlier reduced the number of liquor shops to 2,934 as part of the alcohol ban guarantee. Only 2934 of the 4380 stores in the state have been open since the end of May, down 33 % of the total.
The decision to reduce shops were taken to make Andhra Pradesh an alcohol free State.
