Mr. Mekapati Vikram Reddy, the brother of late Mr. Mekapati Goutham Reddy filed his nomination for the upcoming by election of the Atmakur Assembly constituency.
After the demise of Mr. Mekapati Goutham Reddy, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Atmakur, the seat fell vacant leading to by elections in the constituency. Now, his brother Mr. Mekapati Vikram Reddy would contest the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) ticket. He would be the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) candidate against the Telugu Desam Party and the JanaSena Party, contesting in the fray for the by election.
Mr. Mekapati Vikram Reddy, who received Bee Form on Wednesday by Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, filed his papers on the 2nd of June, Thursday. Mr. Mekapati Vikram Reddy was accompanied by Mr. Kakani Govardhan Reddy along with the YSRCP leaders. Ahead of filing the nomination, Mr. Mekapati Vikram Reddy conducted special pujas at the Abhayanjaneyaswamy Temple on Bypass Road and then rallied to the Revenue District Office (RDO) office over the Nellore Center and filed his nomination.
After filing his nomination, Mr. Vikram Reddy said it is a pleasure that all the YSRCP family members came for the nomination process. He said, “This election is new to me, however, we will take it seriously and work for the development of the region.
The Atmakur Assembly by election are scheduled to be held on the 23rd of June and the results would be announced on the 26th of June.
