The Telugu state of Andhra Pradesh has been announced as the top Indian state in providing telemedicine services in India.
The state has achieved the ranking under the leadership of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. It was the aim of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) led Andhra Pradesh Government aimed to provide quality medical services to those who are in emergency situations even in remote villages of the State. For this telemedicine system has been strengthened, which provides specialist medical services through telemedicine.
With the measures of the Andhra Pradesh Government, the Telugu State of Andhra Pradesh has created a record in telemedicine services and become top in India.
On the 20th of February, Monday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare revealed that Andhra Pradesh is at the top in terms of telemedicine services. The Ministry tweeted, “By the end of January this year, telemedicine services were provided to 6.03 crore patients across the country, and 1.86 crore patients were provided with telemedicine services in Andhra Pradesh alone.”
As per the data, approximately 30.84% of the telemedicine services provided in the entire country are provided in AP, followed by West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
