A CCTV footage of a man hitting his son to death came into light. The incident was shocking as a man was seen hitting his son with a hammer and assaulting while he was bleeding to death.
The disturbing and shocking CCTV footage was of a resident of Satyanagar area of Visakhapatnam.
The Satyanagar area comes under the territorial jurisdiction of the Pendurthi police station in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The man identified as Veera Raju, hammered his 40 year old son to death over a property dispute.
In the CCTV footage Veera Raju was seen coming from behind with a hammer and assaulting his son till he died.
Though the incident took place on the 12th of August, the matter came to light on the 14th of August.
On the 13th of August, after murdering his own son, Veera Raju surrendered himself to the Visakhapatnam Police.
A senior police official said, “Veera Raju killed his son Jala Raju after a heated argument took place between them over a property dispute.
Veera Raju attacked his son with a hammer and murdered him on the spot.”
Both Veera Raju and his son were seamen. While the father retired from the merchant navy, the son had returned home about a week ago.
The West Visakhapatnam Police registered a case against Veera Raju under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
As of now, Veera Raju has been sent to judicial remand.
