Andhra T20 League Under Match Fixing And Betting Radar, Investigation Underway

Conducted by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) the T20 League is under investigation for match fixing and betting angle. 

Held every year in October and November, the T20 League is being investigated by the anti corruption unit of the ACA.

The six team league of the ACA was held from the 23rd of October and ended on the 8th of November.

According to sources, mass betting and match fixing took place in this year’s T20 League of the ACA.

A final report regarding the event and the teams playing would be submitted to the association soon.

Siva Reddy, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the ACA and ACA secretary V. Durga spoke about the developments in the matter.

The ACA team of Mr. Reddy and Mr. Prasad, said, “If cricketers are found guilty, strictest action will be taken and ACA will seriously consider handing them a ban.”

According to sources, the ACA allowed the T20 League to conduct the 12 months 2020 T20 tournament as an affiliation initiative to run a not for profit event for the benefit of cricketers.

The T20 League was held under the supervision of the Karnataka first class cricketer and basic supervisor at twenty first Century Media (TCM), Carlton Saldanha..

Now, after receiving betting and match fixing complaints, the ACA would investigate the matter and also see whether the tournament was held according to rules and regulations and if precautions were taken to avoid such instances.
