A beautician was duped of Rs. 45 lakh under the pretext of giving high interests and returns in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh.
The incident of financial scam came to light after the victim identified as Anuradha, who works as a beautician in Kongareddypalli region, registered a first information report (FIR) with the police. Getting into the details, as per complaint, Anuradha deposited money in a company called AOG, hoping for a high rate of interest. She was informed that if she made an investment of Rs. 1 Lakh, she would get an interest of Rs. 40,000 per month. However, Anuradha would get the interest starting from the 4th month of the investment, said the members of the AOG company.
With the idea of higher interest, Anuradha took a loan and borrowed money from relatives to pay the accused company a sum of Rs. 45 lakhs. After three months passed, Anuradha went to the company to collect interest and found the company was shut. After realizing that she has been duped, the victim, Anuradha registered a complaint.
Mr. Narasimharaju, the Circle Inspector (CI) of Chittoor Police, registered a case under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched an investigation.
