The Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Cabinet is scheduled to meet on the 27th of January to discuss the abolition of the State’s Legislative Council.
The meeting was scheduled after on the 24th of January, Shariff Mohammed Ahmed, the Chairman of the Legislative Council of A.P., announced he would send the two bills for the decentralisation of the State’s capitals to a select committee.
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government opposed the decision of the Chairman of the Legislative Council and decided to abolish the Council.
The Cabinet will also take a decision about the issuance of ordinances on the three capitals and repealing the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA.)
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., would chair this Cabinet meeting, which is scheduled to start soon.
