Amid the ongoing Andhra Pradesh Assembly session, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) called for an urgent cabinet meeting today, the 22nd of November, Monday.
The sudden cabinet meeting would be chaired by Mr.Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) Considering the decision to conduct an urgent cabinet meeting, it is speculated that the YSRCP Government is going to take some crucial decisions related to the growth of the State and the ongoing Assembly session.
According to sources, the major topic of today’s Cabinet meeting is the three capitals issue. It is to be noted, in 2020 the YSRCP Government proposed to have three capitals of A.P. Besides Amaravati, the State Government proposed Kurnool and Visakhapatnam also to be the state capitals. Although the proposal was taken in the view of growth and development of the State, the opposition and the people of Amaravati are criticising the ruling Government for the same.
If sources are to be believed the State Government would discuss the same and is mulling over to withdraw the three capitals bill. However, there is no clarity on the issue and no official announcement regarding the same by the State Government.
The meeting scheduled today, the 22nd of November, would be attended by the YSRCP ministers and other leaders of the State Government.
Meanwhile, the ongoing Assembly session is expected to continue till the 26th of November.
Stay tuned for further updates.
