Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) on the 22nd of October, held a review meeting regarding the cleanliness of the State.

The meeting was held at the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) camp office in Tadepalli. During the meeting, Mr.Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the authorities to make an effort for cleanliness in cities, towns and villages of Andhra Pradesh. He asked the concerned officials to take the best ways to dispose of waste and create awareness of cleanliness amongst the people of A.P.

In order to achieve a clean Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP Government, on the 3rd of October, launched the Clean Andhra Pradesh Mission to ensure a pollution free and clean environment for its people. In order to achieve the same, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy discussed the plans and future course of action with the use of modern technology, involvement of panchayat level officials, secretariat volunteers and other department officials.

In addition, the State Chief Minister ordered appropriate measures to be taken in cities and towns to prevent any trouble from the garbage transfer stations to the nearby houses. The State CM asked the concerned authority to ensure garbage is being dumped from time to time in the dedicated dump yard to ensure clean environment in localities.

Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, special focus should also be given to the maintenance of public toilets. He said special attention should be paid not only to the construction of public toilets but also to keeping them clean.

The State Government also decided to donate dustbins to those who do not have dustbins in the villages, ensuring they use the same.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “Authorities should focus on the management of sewers and appropriate measures should be taken without storing sewage anywhere.”

Concluding the meeting on the cleanliness programme, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy asked the concerned authorities to receive reports on the cleanliness programme from time to time and submit the same to the State Government.
