The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) led Andhra Pradesh Government formed a new Economic Weaker Section (EWS) Welfare Department.
On the 2nd of November, the State Government under the chairmanship of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P,. approved the new department. In addition, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy also asked for form a separate welfare department for Jains and Sikhs in the Telugu State. The Jain Welfare Corporation and the Sikh Welfare Corporation would work to ensure implementation of schemes for then in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
In regard to this, the YSRCP Government issued a government order (GO.) From now, committees for the welfare of Reddy, Kamma, Brahmin, Kshatriya, Kapu and Arya Vaishya would also come under the special EWS welfare department, which would be functional soon.
The decision to constitute the three welfare departments were taken during the recently held Andhra Pradesh Cabinet meeting. The State Government is likely to pass a resolution regarding the same in the upcoming Assembly session.
The Andhra Pradesh Assembly session is scheduled to begin from the 17th of November.
