Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, congratulated Srikanth Kidambi, who won a silver medal in the BWF Championship 2021.

At 10:10 P.M., on the 19th of December, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy posted a tweet, “Many congratulations to our Telugu shuttler Kidambi Srikanth on winning historic silver after a hard-fought final in BWF World Championship 2021. Besides Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Vice President of India Mr. Venkaiah Naidu also congratulated Kidambi Srikanth for the victory. He said, “Congratulations to Kidambi Srikanth for scripting history by becoming the first male player from India to bag a Silver medal at BWF World Championships final 2021. On the 19th of December, Srikanth Kidambi clinched a silver medal in Men’s Singles. He was defeated by Loh Kean Yew, a player from Singapore. A former world no. 1, Srikanth lost 15-21, 20-22 to his opponent in 43 minutes. Despite the loss of a gold medal, India secured two medals at the Badminton World Federation (BWF.)

The BWF Championship 2021 started from the 12th of December and concluded on the 19th of December. The event was held in Huelva, Spain.
