The Andhra Pradesh Government, on the 1st of October, announced Minimum Support Price (MSP) for all crops.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, announced the MSP for agricultural products for the year 2020 to 2021.
The decision was made to help farmers of the State and complete the promise made to provide MSP to farmers for 2020-2021.
Mr. Reddy directed the concerned officials to not purchase crops below the given MSP.
However, the farmers are advised to register crop details in e Karshak to sell at the minimum support price.
After registration, village agricultural assistants and village horticultural assistants have to register the crops with RBK to sell the crops which would buy the crops if the minimum support price is not available.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “If necessary, the government will buy through RBKs and create competition in the market and would stand by the farmers in selling their crops.”
In regard to provide MSP, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) allocated an amount of Rs. 11,500 crores.
Mr. Reddy said, “We have set up a price stabilization fund of Rs 3,300 crore this year as well, and farmers need not worry.”
