AP Government Constitutes 16 Member High Power Committee

The Andhra Pradesh Government, on the 29th of December, constituted a committee of 16 members to take a final call regarding the proposal of having three State capitals.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) in his last Cabinet meeting, announced high power committee would be constituted to study the report drafted by the G.N. Rao Committee.

Two days after the Cabinet meeting, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) constituted the high power committee which would examine the recommendations of the G.N. Rao expert committee.

The members of the high power committee are:

  • Buggana Rajendranath, the Finance Minister of A.P.
  • Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose, the Minister of Revenue, Registration and Stamps and one of the Deputy Chief Ministers of A.P.
  • Adimulapu Suresh, the Minister of Education of A.P.
  • Botsa Satyanarayana, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of A.P.
  • Mekapati Goutham Reddy, the Minister of Industries, Commerce, Information and Technology of A.P.
  • K. Kanna Babu, the Minister of Agriculture of A.P.
  • Mekathoti Sucharitha, the Home Minister of A.P.
  • Mopidevi Venkataramana, the Minister of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Marketing of A.P.
  • Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao, the Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs of A.P.
  • Perni Venkataramaiah (Perni Nani,) the Minister of Transport, Information and PR of A.P.
  • Ajeya Kallam, the Principal Advisor to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy
  • Gautam Sawang, the Director General of Police (DGP) of A.P.
  • Nilam Sawhney, the Chief Secretary of A.P.
  • K. Hymavathi, the Chief Commission of Land Administration (CCLA) Secretary
  • C.S.S.V. Durga Prasad, the Secretary of Law Department
  • J. Syamala Rao, the Secretary of Municipal Administration Department.

Nilam Sawhney would be the chief of the committee.  The committee was asked to submit their report to the YSRCP Government within three weeks from the 30th of December.
