AP Government Signs MoU With NMDC For Steel Plant

The Andhra Pradesh Government issued an order permitting the construction of a steel plant in Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

On the 18th of December, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC.)

The NMDC is a Central Government owner public enterprise, which would supply iron ore and steel to the AP Government for the construction of the steel plant in Kadapa

Alok Kumar Mehta, the NMDC Director (Commercial) and P. Madhusudan, the Head of Andhra Pradesh High Grade Steel Limited, signed the MoU in the presence of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P.  The MoU was signed at the CM Camp Office in Tadepalli. CM YS Jagan expressed his happiness about the deal.

The steel plant is set to be constructed on 3,295 acres of land in M. Kambaladinne village of Mylavaram mandal in Kadapa, which falls under the Jammalamadugu revenue division in Andhra Pradesh.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is expected to lay the foundation for the steel plant and perform a bhoomi puja on the 27th of December.
