Taking serious note of the rising cases of digital loan recovery harassment, the Andhra Pradesh Government announced a helpline number for complaints.
On the 10th of October, Monday, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, took the decision to prevent the harassment by representatives of loan apps. As per the directions of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the State Home Ministry officials released the toll free number 1930, which would be used for complaints regarding the harassment of online loan app agents.
After releasing the toll free numbers, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) led State Government officials said, anyone, suffering from loan app agents. They also alerted people from such people and asked them to immediately complain to the concerned authority on the toll free number.
Notably, in the past few months, the harassment from loan delivery agents increased in the Telugu State. Disturbed by such agents, many people were unable to pay the amount and even committed suicide.
