Tension escalated at Vijayawada’s Gollapudi One Centre as the Andhra Pradesh Government ordered to demolish the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office.
The police personnel and revenue officials started the demolition work at Gollapudi One Centre, as it is allegedly located in a private area, registered under Mr. Sesharatnam. It is to be noted, the TDP office was in operation under the name of Mr. Sesharatnam, as it was given to him as a gift by the TDP.
However, years later, Mr. Sesharatnam refused to accept the gift deed and urged the revenue officials to demolish the building, as it was being misused. Acting upon the complaint of Mr. Sesharatnam, the revenue officials submitted a report, following which the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government ordered the demolition of the TDP office.
Furthermore, to control the situation and protest like situation in the Gollapudi region, a huge number of police officials and security officials were deployed in the region. Furthermore, the demolition process began under the supervision of the Gollapudi District Collector Mr.
In addition, the state police have closed off the roads leading to the TDP office in order to prevent any potential clashes.
Meanwhile, the TDP officials lashed out at Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the YSRCP Government for demolishing the TDP office. Mr. Devineni Uma, a senior leader of the TDP said, the police and revenue officials are doing the demolition to please the State Chief Minister, who is abusing the power and is going against democracy.
The TDP leaders further staged a sit in protest, demanding to revoke orders of the TDP office demolition in the Gollapudi region.
