The Andhra Pradesh Grama Panchayat second phase elections concluded on the 13th of February.

Nearly 76 % of voters casted their votes for 20,817 ward member positions and sarpanch posts. The voting started at 6:30 A.M., and concluded at 3:30 P.M. The counting of votes began at 4:00 P.M., and is underway.

Under the supervision of the Andhra Pradesh Police and arrangements of the State Election Commission (SEC,) the elections went smoothly.

In the second phase, elections were conducted for a total of 33,570 ward member posts, of which 12,604 ward members were elected unanimously. There were 44,879 candidates in the fray for 20,965 ward positions.

In addition, 539 sarpanch posts were elected unanimously, which means there was no competition for the elected 539 sarpanches in the second phase of the Grama Panchayat elections.

For the remaining 2,789 sarpanch posts, there was a tough fight between 7,519 candidates.

With this, the first and the second phases of the Andhra Pradesh Grama Panchayat concluded.

The remaining two phases are scheduled on the 17th of February and the 21st of February.
