The Andhra Pradesh Grama Panchayat nomination process for the third phase ended on the 8th of February.
The nomination process for the third phase started from the 6th of February and would end by 5:00 P.M., on the 8th of February.
In the third phase nominations, so far 7,164 nominations were filed for Sarpanch posts and 28,155 nominations for ward members.
The highest number of nominations received are 988 in Anantapur and the lowest 197 in Guntur.
Similarly, Anantapur had the highest number of 3,311 nominations and Guntur had the lowest number of 1,699.
Meanwhile, the Grama Panchayat elections are all set to begin from the 9th of February. The first phase of the panchayat elections would be held for 2,723 gram panchayats.
The polling would begin from 6:30 A.M., and would continue till 3:30 P.M. The results of the first phase of the panchayat elections would be announced on the evening of the same day.
To assure safe, smooth and peaceful polling, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, the State Election Commissioner (SEC) of Andhra Pradesh toured poll bound districts and is still continuing his tour of the districts.
However, his visit to Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool districts were cancelled at the last minute due to some unavoidable reasons.
While the first phase of the four phased panchayat elections would be held on the 9th of February, the remaining three are scheduled on the 13th, the 17th and the 21st of February.
