The Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC) served notices to Mr. Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu and his son Chintakayala Rajesh in a forgery and encroachment case.
On the 5th of November, Saturday, the Andhra Pradesh HC Judge reviewed a petition filed by State Crime Investigation Department (CID), challenging the rejection of remand by the Visakhapatnam Chief Metropolitan Magistrate in the forgery case.
According to sources, in the wee hours of the 3rd of November, the CID arrested Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu and his son Chintakayala Rajesh, alleged of presenting forged documents of a wall constructed at their house. The complainant also said the TDP leaders acquired irrigation land and constructed the wall illegally.
Hours after the arrest, the Andhra Pradesh CID presented Mr. Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu in the court, which granted release as it rejected the remand petition. The court also asked to take further action against the TDP leader, after serving Section 41A of CrPC notice, (notice of appearance before police.)
Questioning the judgement of the Visakhapatnam Court, the Andhra Pradesh High Court asked the lower court, “How it can say Section 147 (forgery) will not be applicable to the case registered by the CID alleging that Ayyanna Patrudu had grabbed two acres of government land behind his house by forging signatures of government officials at Narsipatnam in Anakapalli district.”
With this, the High Court also issued notices to Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu and his son Chittakalaya Rajesh.
Furthermore, the court adjourned the matter to the 10th of November.
