AP Irrigation Minister Criticises TDP’s Chandrababu Naidu, Challenges To Face CID Case

War of words and criticism between the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) continues in Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)

Recently, taking a dig at N. Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the TDP, the A.P., Irrigation Minister Dr. P. Anil Kumar Yadav challenged him to attend court cases against him. The open challenge was directed towards the recent case filed in the Amaravati land scam and irregularities in registration. The Crime Investigation Department (CID) filed a case against Nara Chandrababu Naidu and summoned him, asking to appear before the CID on the 23rd of March. In regard to the CID case, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu filed a petition in the A.P., High Court, following which the Court put a stay order on the CID probe.

Criticising the same, Mr. Anil Kumar Yadav said “Why Naidu had approached the court to secure a stay order in Amaravati lands issue when he is really not guilty and described the Opposition Leader as ‘Babu with stays.”

Anil Kumar Yadav said Chandrababu Naidu obtained 16 stay orders earlier and again he got orders a couple of days ago.

The comments of Anil Kumar Yadav came on the 21st of March, during his media briefing. Addressing the media he also expressed confidence in winning the Tirupati by elections. He said the YSRCP bagged a majority of seats in the State Panchayat elections and State Municipal elections, which would be repeated in the Tirupati by election.

The Tirupati Parliamentary constituency, a Scheduled Caste (SC) reserved seat fell vacant after the YSRCP MP Balli Durga Prasad succumbed to the Novel Coronavirus.

The Tirupati by elections are scheduled to be held on the 17th of April. The counting of the votes would be held on the 2nd of May.
