AP Records 44.40 % Voters Turnout In Municipal Elections Till 1 PM

The Andhra Pradesh Municipal elections are being held in the State. 

According to the State Election Commission (SEC) officials, A.P., recorded 44.40 % polling till 1:00 P.M.

Till 11:00 A.M., the percentage was 34.

So far, Vizianagaram district recorded the highest at 46.46 % while Visakhapatnam district recorded the lowest at 36 %.

The Command Control Room is monitoring the proceedings of the Municipal elections.

Meanwhile, below are the district wise data of polling percentage in municipal elections:

Krishna district – 32.64 %.

Chittoor district – 30.12%.

Prakasam District – 36.12 %.

YSR‌ District – 32.82 %.

Nellore district – 32.67 %.

Visakhapatnam District – 36 %.

Kurnool District – 34.12 %.

Guntur – 33.62 %.

Srikakulam – 44.40 %.

East Godavari – 36.31 %

Anantapur – 31.36 %.

Vizianagaram – 46.46 %.

West Godavari – 34.14 %.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan and his wife exercised their right to vote. He appealed to every citizen of A.P., to exercise their right to vote.

Andhra Pradesh is conducting polls for 12 Municipal Corporations, including Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and Greater Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and 75 Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats.

The voting for the aforementioned civic bodies started at 7:00 A.M., and would continue till 5:00 P.M.

Major parties contesting the elections are, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP,) the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the JanaSena Party.

The results of the Municipal elections would be announced on the 14th of March.
