Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha has announced the schedule for urban local body, parishad and Gram Panchayat elections across the state. The Model Code of Conduct has come into effect following the announcement.
Elections for 100 urban local bodies will take place in a single phase on October 28. These include 13 municipal corporations, 77 municipalities and 10 Nagar Panchayats. Counting will take place on October 30. Candidates must file nominations by October 18, and they can withdraw them until October 21.
For MPTC and ZPTC elections, polling is scheduled for November 3, with counting on November 5. The official notification will be issued on October 19. The nomination deadline is October 23, and withdrawals are allowed until October 27.
Gram Panchayat elections will take place in three phases on November 26, November 29 and December 2.
The schedule for the three phases lists November 13, 16 and 19 as notification dates, respectively. Nomination deadlines are November 17, 20 and 23, while withdrawal deadlines are November 21, 24 and 27.
Political parties are now preparing for the elections and discussing seat arrangements.
