Andhra Pradesh reported over 5,500 new cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
On the evening of the 31st of January, Monday, the State Health Department confirmed 5,879 fresh Wuhan virus cases, taking the overall tally to 22,76,370. In addition to the new cases, the Telugu State reported 9 fatalities and 11,384 recovered/discharged cases. With this, Andhra Pradesh has 21,51,238 recovered/discharged cases, 14,615 deceased cases and 1,10,517 active cases.
As per district wise data, Anantapur, East Godavari and YSR Kadapa reported the highest, with 856, 823 and 776 new cases, respectively in the past 24 hours.
The aforementioned cases were confirmed after conducting 25,284 COVID-19 tests, taking the tally to 3.24 crore (3,24,70,712) in Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, amid the rising number of the Wuhan virus cases, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government imposed a night curfew in the State until mid February.
