Approved By AP Governor, APSRTC Merger Act Would Come Into Effect In 2020

Biswa Bhushan Harichandan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) on the 27th of December, approved the A.P., State Road Transport Corporation (APSTRC) merger with the Government.

The new merger of the APSRTC and A.P., Government would come  into effect from the 1st of January 2020.

Though the merger proposal was approved by the A.P., Assembly during the Winter Session,  the APSRTC Bill was pending with the Governor. However, now after the signatures of Biswa Bhushan Harichandan, the APSRTC Merger is no more a Bill but an Act.

After the signatures of the A.P. Governor, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) released a notification in the name of the Governor regarding the same. However, an official gazette notification regarding the merger is yet to be released.

Promised by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., the APSRTC employees would soon be considered as government officials.

Approximately 52,000 RTC workers would be recognised as government officials. The RTC workers in A.P., thanked Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for fulfilling his promise and announcing them as government officials. After the merger of the APSRTC and the State Government, all the workers of the RTC would get the same benefits of government officials.
