In the latest developmen in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials made big revelation and submitted statements from key witnesses to the court last month.
Recently, Viveka’s daughter, Sunitha, provided crucial information during her testimony to the CBI.
According to Sunitha’s statement, on March 22, 2019, YS Bharti, a family member, called her and requested a meeting at her home. Sunitha, however, informed Bharti that she had other commitments in Kadapa and Cyberabad Commissionerate. Despite her initial hesitation, Bharti and several others, including Vijayamma, YS Anil Reddy, and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, visited Sunitha’s house. During their meeting near the lift, Bharti appeared worried, which Sunitha attributed to his recent loss of his father.
During the conversation, Bharti reportedly insisted that she must maintain contact with Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, and he suggested that she talk to the media. Sajjala advised to mention Avinash’s name along with Jagananna. Acting on Sajjala’s advice, Sunitha recorded a video of her father complaining about CI Shankaraiah, who was present while the room was being cleaned, and sent it to Sajjala.
Notably, Ms. Sajjala recommended holding a press meet rather than just a video to resolve the matter.
Following Sajjala’s advice, a press meet was arranged at the Hyderabad Press Club, where the issue of investigating the room’s cleaning was raised. Sunitha expressed her frustration at the mistakes made and pondered the motive behind such a crime.
Sunitha was asked to write and sign a complaint outside the mortuary, implicating BTech Ravi and other TDP leaders. Avinash had informed her that TDP leaders were apprehensive about Viveka’s election campaign and might have committed the crime with ulterior motives. However, Sunitha did not sign that complaint.
In July 2019, Sunitha’s impatience grew with Avinash. She also heard from Gajjala Udaykumar Reddy’s mother that her son had prior knowledge of Viveka’s death. This information raised suspicions about Avinash Reddy and Sivashankar Reddy.
Sunitha also disclosed that she provided the CBI with screenshots of Bharti and Sajjala’s WhatsApp chat during her testimony.
