Vijayawada: AP Congress incharge Manickam Tagore alleged that YSRCP and BJP are partners in the sand mafia. He expressed anger over the center for ignoring action against the illegal sand mafia in Andhra Pradesh state.
Manickam Tagore toured Vijayawada on Thursday and addressed a key meeting with mandal level party workers. Manickam is monitoring the booth level strengthening of the Congress party in AP.
Addressing the media on the occasion, Manickam stressed about the affidavit filed by the Environment ministry at AP high court confirming the illegal sand mining in the state. “YSRCP and BJP are in a secret understanding. Narendra Modi is known for harassing opposition parties in states in the name of cases. But the center never took cognizance of illegal sand mining in AP. It shows the secret understanding between Modi and jagan,” Manickam alleged.
He alleged that YSRCP intentionally ignored many opportunities to achieve special status to the state. “BJP relied on YSRCP to approve several key bills at Rajya Sabha. YSRCP would have demanded the center to fulfill bifurcation promises and give special status. But Jagan lobbied with BJP over cases to special status,” Manickam alleged.
He demanded the center to take serious action to control illegal sand mining in AP since it is badly affecting the environment. Manickam said that Congress will start a legal fight on the issue very soon.
