Beedha Masthan Rao, a former member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 7th of December, joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)
Mr. Rao, the former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Nellore, on the 6th of December, submitted his resignation and quit the TDP. While quitting the Party, he said, “I am leaving TDP due to the lack of respect in the Party.”
On the afternoon of the 7th of December, Beedha Masthan Rao joined the YSRCP in the presence of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and YSRCP members.
YSRCP Members of Parliament (MPs) like Vijayasai Reddy, Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and Anil Kumar Yadav, a Cabinet Minister, were also present at the event where Beedha Rao joined the YSRCP.
During the event, Beedha Masthan Rao praised the YSRCP Government and its President, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. While joining the Party, he stated he has no personal issues with any of the political leaders and he joined the YSRCP as he was impressed with the schemes implemented by the YSRCP Government.
The resignation of Beedha Masthan Rao could be a major drawback for the TDP, which is trying to strengthen itself after its defeat in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh elections.
