The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) conducted a Council meeting on the 29th of December.

Y.V. Subba Reddy, the Chairman of the TTD, chaired the meeting, which was attended by all the members of the TTD.

During the meeting, the TTD Board members discussed major issues and took several key decisions.

After concluding the meeting, the TTD members conducted a press conference and explained the decisions briefly.

The major decisions taken during the Council meeting were:

  • The TTD Board members approved the appointment of Ramana Dikshitha as the Chief Archbishop of the TTD.
  • An amount of Rs. 3,243 crores was approved for the year 2011-2020.
  • Constructing a Srivari Temple in Mumbai.
  • Establishing a cyber security unit under the TTD.
  • The formation of a committee solely dedicated for monitoring road safety standards was approved, along with the repairing of ghat roads worth Rs. 10 crores.
  • Repairing TTD administrative buildings worth Rs. 14.30 crores.
  • Drafting proposals to build a Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Jammu and Kashmir and Varanasi.
  • Proposing steps to ban plastic in Tirumala under the governance of the TTD.

This year, the revenue collected from the Srivari Hundi was Rs. 1,285 crores and the money generated from the sale of laddoo prasad was worth Rs. 330 crores.

With this, the TTD conducted its last Council meeting for 2019.
